Oranges

Orange is an edible citrus fruit obtained from sweet orange tree (Citrus × sinensis), bitter orange tree (Citrus × aurantium) and orange trees from other varieties or hybrids (Asian hybrids originating in India, Vietnam or southeast China).

It is a fleshy hesperidium, with a more or less thick and hardened peel, and its pulp is typically formed by eleven segments full of juice, which contains a lot of vitamin C, flavonoids and essential oils. It is grown as an ancient ornamental tree and to obtain fragrances of its fruits. It is smaller and sweeter than grapefruit and larger, although less fragrant, than clementine. There are numerous varieties of oranges, the majority being hybrids.
